House Bill 1567

State prescription drug buying pool. Requires the office of the secretary of family and social services to establish, implement, and maintain a prescription drug purchasing program (program) to negotiate the costs of prescription drugs for the following groups who may participate in the program: (1) a state agency that purchases prescription drugs or that arranges for the payment of the purchase of prescription drugs; (2) a local unit; or (3) a state educational institution. Specifies that if the state personnel department participates in the program, the self- insurance program or contract must provide for payment for prescription drugs purchased through the prescription drug purchasing program.
