DIGEST OF INTRODUCED BILL


Lobbying by former office holders. Provides that an individual who has served as a state official may not register as a lobbyist during the period that ends two years after the date that the individual ceases to be a state official. Provides that an individual who has served as a state official who has certain dealings with agencies in the executive branch of state government during the period that ends two years after the date the individual ceases to be a state official commits a class D felony. Provides that the prohibitions apply only to an individual who ceases to be a state official after June 30, 2003.
