DIGEST OF INTRODUCED BILL
Unemployment compensation. Reduces from eight to four weeks the period during which a person must earn remuneration equal to or exceeding the weekly benefit amount in order to become eligible for unemployment compensation benefits. Allows a person who leaves one job for a better job to be eligible for unemployment insurance benefits if the person is discharged from the second job without just cause. Allows an employee who is discharged for violation of an attendance policy to show good cause for the absences or tardiness for purposes of determining whether the employee was discharged for just cause.
