DIGEST OF INTRODUCED BILL
Legislative compensation. Establishes the legislative compensation and benefits advisory commission. Requires the commission to: (1) review the current compensation and benefits provided to members of the general assembly; and (2) make recommendations concerning the compensation and benefits for members of the general assembly that the commission considers appropriate. Requires an advisory public question to be put on the November 2008 general election ballot asking the voters whether members of the general assembly should receive compensation and benefits that are provided under current law or as recommended by the commission. Repeals the statute that establishes the public officers compensation advisory commission.
