DIGEST OF INTRODUCED BILL
Written informed consent in Spanish and English to abortion. Provides that the information that must be provided to a pregnant woman in order for the woman's consent to an abortion to be voluntary and informed must be provided to the woman in writing in English and Spanish as well as orally. (Current law requires that the information be given only orally and contains no language requirements.) Requires the department of health to develop a form in both English and Spanish to be used by a pregnant woman in certifying that she has received the required information.
