DIGEST
Retail sale of dogs and cats. Prohibits a retail pet store from selling or offering to sell a dog or cat unless the dog or cat is obtained from an animal shelter, a humane society, an animal rescue operation, an animal control agency, or a governmental entity operating an animal shelter or other animal impounding facility. Requires that a retail pet store maintain certain records for not less than one year after the dog or cat is sold, adopted, or given away. Provides that a retail pet store must post the name and business address of the person or organization
