DIGEST
Doula services. Requires a state employee health plan, a policy of accident and sickness insurance, and a health maintenance organization contract to provide coverage for services provided by a doula to a covered individual before, during, and after childbirth. Requires Medicaid reimbursement for doula services (current law allows for reimbursement). Requires the office of the secretary of family and social services to establish a separate category within Medicaid for providers of doula services for reimbursement purposes. Requires the office of the secretary to establish and maintain a doula registry.
